Abstract :
Planar differentially fed dual-linearly polarized wideband antenna is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The antenna is created as an array of four electric-magnetic antennas, each one consisting of a loop and a planar monopole. It is experimentally demonstrated that the considered radiating element features a fractional bandwidth of about 40%, good impedance matching, and uni-directional stable radiation patterns over the operational frequency range. Application of the antenna developed to the near-field UWB polarimetric measurements is demonstrated.
