Abstract :
This research examined the influence of taskwork and teamwork training presented either to intact teams or by team position. One hundred forty-eight participants (74 teams) received training on a computer flight simulator task, appropriate teamwork skills for the simulation, and “flew” six missions. The results of the hierarchical linear modeling analysis revealed all teams improved performance over time. The task condition had not influence on performance, however teams which received teamwork skills training by position performed significantly better than those in the intact team training condition
