Abstract
The author develops methods of variable structure system theory for an output tracking problem in nonlinear dynamical systems. The goal is to provide the system a given (desired) quality of tracking error behavior in sliding mode (given eigenvalue placement and invariance to nonlinearities). The sliding mode in such a system is formed on the deviations between system state and the solution of a specially formed system of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs), called the system center. The developed approach is applied to the problem of control law synthesis in pulse voltage stabilizers with a two-section filter
