Abstract
We present an efficient fractal image compression method with adaptive rhomb partition, based on the visual property that our eyes are more sensitive to horizontal and vertical directions, compared with diagonal ones (Kharatishvili et al., 1993). Experiment results show that reconstructed images can maintain a high image quality even with a high compression ratio
