Abstract :
China´s mobile service markets are undergoing rapid growth and continuous transformation. Especially facing incoming 3G era, firms in other sector are pushing into this market and altering the value chains. In this study, we try to explain how actors in this market utilize strategy of merges and acquisitions (M&A) to consolidate their place, and how these activities reconstruct the mobile service value chain. This paper presents a multi-case study by utilizing main actors´ M&A events, to describe the transformation of mobile service market and to illustrate the links between transformation and actors´ strategies, as well as other factors like regulation, technological change.
