Abstract :
A method for the recognition of parallelograms in a binary image is presented. The peaks of the Hough transform are used to generate a hypothesis about the existence of a parallelogram. Geometric relations that hold between the lengths of the edges and the heights of the parallelogram are used for the hypothesis testing. Results are shown to indicate how the new method deals with noise and the existence of other objects in the image
