Abstract
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has developed an in-house supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for a decade. The primary purpose of the EGAT-SCADA system is to assist operators to supervise and control the electricity transmission system and additionally, to reduce technological dependency on foreign technology transferors. With this novel technology, all required information is available. The operators can perform quick responds and precise decision on the operation of the transmission control system. This paper describes the software design concept of three major applications, real-time database (RTDB) server, network color processing (NCP), and power system monitoring (PSM), including their relation in the system in order to bring data to a power network display
