Abstract
An image modelling technique, based on the use of Hermite functions and a multiresolution image alignment algorithm, is described and applied to the problem of analysing 2D electrophoresis images of biological samples. After a brief description of the principles underlying the model, its use is illustrated on some images of samples. The model forms the core of an image analysis and database system currently being developed for Proteomics.
