Abstract
The experimental study of a magnetostatic surface wave delay line is presented. The delay line is designed by adopting the simple layered structure of an yttrium iron garnet (YIG) chip, placed on two matched microstrips evaporated on a metallized dielectric substrate. A region of constant delay of 125/spl plusmn/13 ns is obtained over a region 2.8% wide at center frequency. The minimum insertion loss of the nondispersive delay line is of the order of 21 dB.
