Abstract :
In this paper, a new space-time Conservation Element and Solution Element (CE/SE) method is applied to solve the 2-D shallow water equations, which is in the triangular mesh. The space and time are unified and treated on the same footing. By the introduction of conservation element and solution element, both local and global flux conservations in space and time instead of in space only are enforced, it is simpler and easier to apply. The proposed hydrodynamic mathematic model was verified by using the measured field data in Yangzi River. It is shown that the velocity decreases in reservoir after Three Georges Project built. The river hydraulics characters with complex boundaries and topography can be well simulated by using CE-SE scheme.
