Abstract
The force-sensitive touch-surface with multi-functions is used much more but not including the dialer with standard 4 times 3 keypad recommended by ITU-T E.161. This paper proposes an integrated design and usage for the standard twelve-button dialer to merge another candidate interface from one application of the five-way navigation key, calculator, and media player designs into a dual-function touch-sensitive user input interface. In addition to the proposed three categories of candidate gesture patterns, there are also presented the simulation methods and results to show the patterns detectable and recognizable for further applications.
