Abstract :
Summary form only as given. France holds a special position in Europe and in the World for the training of engineers for several reasons. One particularity of the French system is that engineers are trained in highly regarded “Grandes Ecoles” which use a strict selection system. In this context, some universities have been developing original engineering training. The new courses are based on interdisciplinary curricula, practice of new technologies in various co-operation with industries, training in communication and social management and contact with research in the universities and companies laboratories
