Abstract
This paper explains basic AC induction motor theory and applies this theory to describe motor characteristics during starting. Then this paper discusses the effects reduced voltage starting has on an AC induction motor. Lastly, this paper reviews various methods of reduced voltage starting and presents some of the advantages and disadvantages of each of these methods
