  • Abstract
This paper present standard models of trunk power systems that can be commonly used by researchers and engineers in the power system field. Four standard models composed of 10-machine and 30-machine (2 models each) are described in this paper. These models possess the characteristics of the 50 Hz and 60 Hz Japanese power systems. The paper also presents standard models of 66 kV and 77 kV subtransmission systems which are designed to be used as a common platform for testing simulation algorithms, particularly, simulation algorithms used for power supply restoration planning and reliability analysis. To cover a broad range of system characteristics and configurations that exist in Japanese subtransmission systems, three separate models, for urban, suburban, and provincial systems are described. All three systems are based on real subtransmission systems in Japan
