Abstract :
HORs (high-order residues) are used to classify and stabilize intersubsystem modes through local controllers in interconnected systems. Completely decentralized controllers might not be effective in damping these interarea modes. Under such situations, communication links between subsystems become necessary. A four-generator, 32-state-variable, power system example is given to illustrate the proposed approach
