Abstract :
An efficient, fast and safe solution of an emergency could save lives, and also economic damages. And reliable communications are a must in an emergency operation to keep all the crew connected and to maintain a coordinated central command. This contribution focus on radio communication within forest environments, highlighting the improvement that spatial diversity could provide. We analyzed the use of spatial diversity in terms of received power, detecting mean gains of up to 2.7 dB in wireless standard bands.
