Abstract
The design of distributed filters for estimating the real power mismatch in multicontrol area power systems is considered. The filters´ size in each area is equal to the number of tie lines plus one. Decoupling of the filters is achieved through additional measurements. A three-area system is used to demonstrate the proposed method. The system has an 18th-order model and at each area a third-order filter is designed
