Abstract :
In this paper, we show how ad hoc designed synthetic scattering experiments can be exploited to tackle the solution of inverse scattering problems in an effective and convenient fashion. In particular, we introduce two new solution procedures that exploit a suitable pre-processing of the original scattered field data to implement the synthetic experiments framework. As shown through an example dealing with the Fresnel experimental data, the two approaches can successfully image the targets without taking advantage of frequency diversity and allow to obtain better performances (either in terms of computationally effectiveness and/or quality of the reconstructions) with respect to other, previously available, inversion approaches.
