  • Abstract
    It is shown that the balanced singular perturbation approximation of a coinner (inner) transfer-function matrix is coinner (inner). The result is proved for both continuous and discrete systems. The main application of this result is in coprime factors model reduction. It is shown that the singular perturbation approximations of normalized coprime factors are normalized
