Abstract :
Digital peak current (DPC) controlled switching dc-dc converters operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) with four different digital pulse-width modulations are studied in this paper. The control laws by using four modulation methods are derived and compared with buck converter as an example. Their stabilities are also analyzed. Experiment studies are performed to compare the transient performance among four modulation methods. Experimental results show that DPC with trailing-triangle modulation has the fastest transient response to load variation.
