Abstract :
Ageing deterioration is most concerned on polymer insulators and accelerated ageing tests are conducted all over the world in order to evaluate long term performance in a short period. Acceleration factors of artificial ageing tests with actual field performance are sometimes correlated by leakage current or cumulative charge. Here we tried to investigate what kind of leakage current is most influential on ageing deterioration, how different from each other among various leakage current measuring methods, and what is the effect of UV radiation on both ageing deterioration and leakage current measurement Preliminary investigation results are presented.
