  • Abstract
    A 16 bit ultra-low power embedded processor with dual mode has been proposed for sensor networks based on commercial processors. The processor has an alu-to-go mode which can remove instruction memory and omit instruction fetching and decoding power consumption. It also has a full speed mode to achieve adequate performance. Experiments show that the processor can reduce 60 percent of active power and 40 percent of code size.
