Abstract
In this paper a bowl-shaped beam reflectarray antenna is introduced at X band. This kind of radiation pattern is usually desirable for antennas mounted on LEO and MEO satellites to obtain an equal strength signal at any arbitrary location on the earth. In order to achieve this feature, the antenna gain is to enhance at the line-of-site angles to the horizon and diminish at the center. To realize the desired shaped beam, the alternating projection method is implemented to optimize the phase distribution on the reflectarray surface.
