Abstract :
A novel design method for CIC-CPPFC circuit has been proposed in this paper. The main contributions are as follows: (1) The principle of CIC-CPPFC circuit has been introduced and a few of significant formulas have been derived to compute the input current, input power and so on; (2) Based on these formulas, the parameters of the CIC-CPPFC can be simply calculated. Therefore, a design procedure and approach have been put forward in this paper; (3) Employing the design results, a prototype for PT converter and electronic ballast has been built up to verify the design method and to show the calculation procedures; The results of simulation and experiment show that CIC-CPPFC could improve the power factor of PT converter and the line current harmonics components meet totally the requirements of IEC 61000-3-2.
