Abstract
A novel technique using multilayer substrates with dielectric contrast between layers to reduce mutual coupling between elements is proposed. The technique is based on modification propagation velocity of surface waves and does not introduce additional fabrication complexity and is effective even with very small inter-element spacing. The technique has been successfully applied to reduce mutual coupling in both operational bands in dual-band arrays.
