  • Abstract
    A broadband planar antenna array for 60GHz is designed based on FR-4 PCB/epoxy/polypropylene/epoxy composite (PEPEC) substrate. The bandwidth is enhanced by using gap-coupled T-transmission line (T-TL) structure and the reason is analyzed by giving an equivalent LC network which can make the impedance change smoothly. Using the gap-coupled T-TL patch, the parallel fed 1×16 array is designed. The simulated results show that the -10dB impedance bandwidth of the 16-element array is 11.4GHz; the peak gain of it is 15.56dBi; -3dB gain bandwidth of the array reaches 17.6GHz. It means that this array can meet the requirements of WPAN wireless communication and covers all the unlicensed band around 60GHz.
