Abstract :
In this work, a poly-pyrrole (PPy)/pentacene/Al rectifier diode was fabricated and compared with Au/pentacene/Al diode. High on-off ratio (~105) and fine AC-DC rectifying effect are demonstrated, indicating that the conductive polymer, PPy, can be good substitute electrode materials for precious metals in organic rectifier diode for low cost application. Further, the J-V characteristics controlled by space-charge-limited-currents (SCLC) in the high current region, and by trap-charge-limited-currents (TCLC) in the low current region, as well as cathode size dependent of J-V characteristic, were observed in our devices. The frequency response and the ability to drive load circuit of the rectifying circuit using PPy/pentacene/Al diode were also investigated.
