Abstract :
Summary form only given as follows. Aggregate production planning involves many stochastic factors, among which uncertainties in demand, capacity, consumption of capacity may have significant effects on the decision. This paper proposes an integrated modeling and solution approach for studying uncertainty in aggregate production planning. Uncertainties in, but not limited to, demand, capacity, consumption of capacity are modeled and service level incorporated. The resulting stochastic chance-constrained program is solved by a combination of mathematical analysis and simulation. The modeling technology can be used to investigate the effect of various stochastic factors and this is demonstrated on a multiple product example
