Abstract
Describes the process being used to implement a paperless environment, called TEDIUM, for the design, construction, and maintenance of computer software applications. The underlying paradigm for this research is not one of artificial intelligence (AI). Nevertheless, the methods used are equally appropriate for the development of AI tools and environments. TEDIUM is an environment designed to support the development of interactive information systems. The author gives an overview of the problem being addressed, describes an environment that offers a solution to that problem, and discusses the methods used to evaluate and improve the environment
