Abstract :
Transmission performance of single mode fibre (SMF)-based dispersion flattened systems using slope compensating dispersion compensated fibre (SCDCF) and reverse dispersion fibre (RDF) was experimentally investigated. The feasibility of transmission distance enhancement in 340 Gbit/s (32/spl times/10.66 Gbits) WDM transmission was confirmed with the proper dispersion map.
