Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed a common-control channel construction for SCS-MC-CDMA systems. By multiplexing a narrow-band common-control channel into traffic channels, in the standby mode, the mobile stations (MS) needs to receive only the narrowband common-control channel, which leads to lower power consumption. Moreover, with the proposed channel construction, the cell search algorithm becomes simple. Cell specification is accomplished by simply measuring sub-carriers that are common-control channel candidates. The long code necessary for the traffic channel is received as a data from the common-control channel. We evaluated communication quality of common-control and traffic channels through computer simulations. By setting the transmitted power ratio of common-control to traffic channel appropriately, sufficient communication quality is accomplished in both channels
