Abstract
Summary form only given. It is not obvious how organisations should measure overall manufacturing performance (OMP). Various approaches with a large number of measures on different hierarchical levels exist. The objectives of the paper are to define dimensions of effective OMP, to analyse the fulfilment of these dimensions in a case study and, in two field studies, analyse how the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) measure contributes to measurement of OMP
