Abstract :
This paper presents the issues involved in implementing a television virtual studio set-up using MPEG-4 technology. It describes the general problems of virtual set systems and proposes solutions to specific problems encountered during the construction of a virtual set. The main focus of the work is using BIFS scene graph technology and H.263 and MPEG-4 video. We identify problems and limitations with the current configuration that require further developmental work
