Abstract
Near-field focusing properties of the circularly rotating UWB phased array are studied theoretically. Dependencies of the near field beam patterns on the frequency band, the center frequency, the number of the element included in the array, the electromagnetic constitutional parameters of the medium, and the focusing point position are investigated. It is shown that the main beam width of the near field beam pattern becomes narrower and side/graining lobe level increases with the medium dielectric constant. Apart from this, the focusing is degraded when the beam pattern is steered to the edge position.
