Rainfall rate measurements by weather radar provide important information for many human activities. In fact the use of the radar allows a high temporal and spatial resolution of the precipitation. In addition measurements on a large scale are only possible by a radar system. The main radar meteorology applications are in hydrology, agriculture, air traffic control and telecommunication.
