Abstract
Summary form only given as follows. Reengineering, introduced at the start of the 1990s, hit the industrial world with a bang! However, three negative elements surfaced fairly rapidly: implementation costs, high failure rates, and the more serious “downsizing” phenomenon, which often followed reengineering applications. “Incremental reengineering” is proposed which virtually eliminates all three negative elements
