Abstract :
A beam position monitoring system has been designed for the 820-GeV HERA (Hadron-Electron Ring Accelerator) proton storage ring accelerator. There will be 243 directional coupler pickups in the ring; the vacuum, mechanical, and electrical properties of each were measured. The measurements ensure good quality and form the basis for determining the beam orbit position relative to the corresponding quadrupole axis. The results of the measurements and the alignment procedure are described
