  • Abstract
    In this paper we present a soft open slot textile antenna with a resonant frequency of 406 MHz. This frequency is used in the search and rescue system COSPAS-SARSAT. Two feeding techniques are studied. Thanks to the use of felt as substrate and e-textile for the conductive parts this antenna is low weight, low cost and easy to fabricate. With a compact size of 100 × 100 mm2 the diagonal of this antenna is only 0.19λ0.
