Abstract
An exact time-varying eigenvalue theory for continuous-time, linear time-varying dynamical systems is studied. Previous results have provided important tools for the analysis, stability characterization and synthesis of continuous time-varying systems. The authors extend their previous (1990) continuous-time results to the class of linear discrete-time systems. By this means they obtain an exact time-varying eigenvalue theory for linear, time-varying discrete-time systems. These results lead to important tools for analyzing stability and designing control laws for digital computer controlled time-varying systems
