  • Abstract
The authors present ARQ (automatic repeat request) strategies for packet communications in a fading mobile radio network. A queuing-theory approach is used to analyze various data-link-control protocols between a mobile node and a base station. Three fading models are considered for the mobile channel, namely, the slow Rayleigh fading model, the Rayleigh/Rayleigh fading model, and the threshold model. Numerical results are also presented for the queuing delay of packets.<>
