Abstract :
This paper describes the PMCHWT-characteristic basis function method (CBFM) to analyze the scattering characteristics of a microstrip array antenna. The PMCHWT-CBFM is an effective numerical method in terms of memory consumption. To validate the effectiveness of the PMCHWT-CBFM, we analyzed the monostatic radar cross section characteristics of a 64-element microstrip array antenna, which is considered as the terminal condition, using the PMCHWT- CBFM and conventional PMCHWT. Both results agreed well with each other; thus, the effectiveness was verified.
