Abstract :
Non-resonant antennas operating at LTE-A frequency bands require a dual-band matching design. This paper presents four different techniques for producing dual-band matching circuit solutions for capacitive coupling element antennas of which the one based on dual-band transforms has not been published earlier. Examples illustrate the use of bandwidth potential for estimating and comparing the dual-band operation of different antennas. In addition, more advanced bandwidth estimators can facilitate choosing the best approach for dualband matching. Finally, the potential of co-design of a matching circuit and an antenna structure is demonstrated.
