Abstract
The paper describes design of high performances digital tachometers and tachometric systems based on the method of the dependent count (MDC). The proposed concept for digital tachometers and tachometric systems provides constant quantization error in all rotation speed range from 0.01 up to hundreds thousands rpm with non-redundant conversion time at the error of measurement, not exceed the beforehand given for every measurement. The novel advanced method has also self-adaptation possibilities. The possible applications include high precision tachometric systems, industrial tachometers including hand-held and virtual measuring instruments.
