Abstract :
A methodology for fast design of antenna arrays is presented. Our approach allows for simultaneous control of the radiation pattern as well as reflection coefficients. We exploit an analytical antenna array model that embeds the simulated radiation and reflection responses of individual radiators. To lower the design cost, the analytical model is based on coarse-discretization simulations and subsequent model correction to ensure accuracy. The proposed technique is illustrated using a planar 4 by 4 array of microstrip antennas.
