Abstract
This paper investigates the application of multi-resolution wavelet analysis to the problem of demodulating digital binary phase shift keying and quarternary phase shift keying communication signals in additive white Gaussian noise channels. The proposed receiver computes the normalized cross correlation between the filtered wavelet coefficients of the received signal and wavelet coefficients that correspond to the prototype signals. Simulations are conducted comparing the method to the classical optimum receiver.
