  • Abstract
A new model is proposed to enhance on-body communications reliability, making use of a 2×2 Virtual Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) wearable configuration. The model accounts for a statistical description of the antenna-user interaction, the user dynamics, and the propagation environment. The received signals result from one on-body component and several environment multipath components. Multipath in large environments (e.g., street) is negligible compared to the on-body component (at the selected frequency of 2.45 GHz).
