Abstract :
To make reuse economically practicable, support concepts and tools must help the software engineer. A modified model for the development process, taking the reuse of components into consideration, is presented. It is based on the idea of a software archive, which classifies and stores the reusable components independently from their use in other applications. The structure and the dynamic behavior of the archive are discussed as far as necessary to permit understanding of its functionality. On the basis of the proposed development model, organizational implications supporting software reuse are derived.<>
