Abstract :
Commercial lithium-ion secondary cells were tested to evaluate performance under low-Earth-orbit (LEO) cycling conditions. Cell materials were characterized before and after cycling to attempt to understand cell performance characteristics under rigorous conditions and cell failure modes. The goal of this program is to fabricate and test cells with materials which are more suitable for LEO satellite applications
