Abstract :
This paper presents frequency-tunable microstrip antennas for cognitive radio applications. The approach is based on electronically adjusting the antenna´s operating frequency by integrating tunable open loop resonator (OLR) based bandpass filters into wideband antenna structures. The same technique is utilized to design cognitive radio pattern and polarization diverse tunable filter-antennas. A good agreement between the simulated and measured results for the different fabricated prototypes is obtained.
