Abstract :
In addition to the conventional peak- and average-current control, several new current control methods have been developed for single-phase power factor correction (PFC) applications. These include charge and quasi-charge control, nonlinear-carrier control, and input current shaping. This paper presents a general averaging method for characterizing the large-signal behavior of single-phase PFC circuits with these six current control methods. For easy reference, large-signal averaged models for each of these control methods are presented, four of which are reported for the first time. SABER simulation of the detailed switching circuit models are used to verify the derived averaged models
